Posted: Thursday, 08 May 2008 |  Julie Swail Ertel, who won a silver medal in water polo at the 2000 Olympics, is going back to the Games - this time as a triathlete - with a goal of winning a second Olympic medal. In April, she won the Olympic Trials in Tuscaloosa, Ala., joining Laura Bennett on Team USA.

Posted: Wednesday, 07 May 2008 |  The Youth Olympic Games will include triathlon as part of the official programme in its debut in Singapore, 2010. At the general assembly of ANOC (Association of National Olympic Committees) in Beijing, China the programme for the first Youth Olympic Games was confirmed and will encompass all 26 sports on the program of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, with a limited number of disciplines and events.

and physical toughness this weekend in Seville, Spain to earn a chance
to compete in the first ever Open Water Swimming 10k race at the 2008
Beijing Olympic Games. As the first American in History, Mark navigated
the daunting 10k course in the Seville rowing basin with precision –
clinching the only American position for the final Olympic event with a
time 1:53:37.80.
