New Course, New Name, New Date…New Race!
All new for 2008, the VM Team Medicine Seafair Marathon course will be a point-to-point route taking participants from Husky Stadium in Seattle and over the 520 Evergreen Point Floating Bridge for a once in a lifetime chance to cross on foot.

That’s right friends join thousands of runners and walkers on June 29 for the premier Pacific Northwest summer athletic experience and one of the top destination marathons in the country. Cross the 520 Floating Bridge on foot, enter the Nordic Walking division, gather friends in a marathon team relay, tackle the half marathon run/walk, or simply enjoy over 10 miles of waterfront views. There is an event for everyone and every skill level.

Avast ye!
The Seafair Pirates have laid claim to the 2008 marathon. The beloved hulk, Moby Duck, will act as the official “pace car” and the “boom” of the cannon will signal the start of the race. Also look for the salty troupe’s shenanigans along the route and at the finish line. Where there are Seafair Pirates, there’s sure to be debauchery.

Kids Mini-Marathon
Calling all kids! Seafair offers children the opportunity to run 26.2 miles and learn the importance of a healthy lifestyle and goal setting. Children run, walk or jog 25.2 miles prior to the marathon, recording each step on a running log downloaded off seafairmarathon.com. On June 29, 2008, the mini-marathoners will complete the final steps of the marathon and receive a finisher’s medal, Brooks t-shirt and a space blanket.

Supporting the VM Team Medicine Seafair Marathon are over 1,000 dedicated volunteers who strive to make the event efficient, organized and enjoyable. For complete event volunteer information, course maps and registration information visit seafairmarathon.com or email marathon@seafair.com.

Join Our Team in the Fight Against Cancer
A portion of each registration goes toward The Floyd & Delores Jones Cancer Institute at Virginia Mason Medical Centers. Participants may also make a pledge to help provide a better future for those living with cancer or purchase a “Running in Honor Of” ribbon. Complete charity information available at seafairmarathon.com.

If you haven't done so yet, Sign up for the Competitor Newsletter for your chance to win a free entry into this great event.
